I love any excuse to dress up, and what better excuse than an event full of friends, fun, fashion and of course CHAMPAGNE.
Last Saturday I attended my first Suited - The Champagne Event with some gorgeous girls I have met through Instagram. With a mutual passion for our small businesses, love of food, fashion and of course champagne we have become wonderful friends who we can bounce ideas off, have a good laugh ,drink bubbles and dance the night away.
Held at the QV1 building in the City, the ground floor transformed into a beautiful pond side garden party with Something Borrowed parading their latest collection on the runway. To add to the party vibe there was live music throughout the afternoon, DJ come the evening, and of course champagne to quench the thirst of the warm Autumn day.
Being a Mum of 3 young children my wardrobe is not full of designer dresses and handbags...although I WISH it was!! And in the age of social media and your photo being instantly posted I hate the thought of buying an expensive dress, wearing it once and then have it sitting in my closet to never be worn again. Designer dress hire companies have been around for a few years and we now see designer bag hire companies following the trend. For Suited I was lucky enough to be loaned an AH-MAZING Louis Vuitton clutch from Clutched (www.clutched.com.au). Clutched have a growing selection of designer bags that you can rent for the night for around $100. They are Express posted to your door and come with a pre-paid return envelope ready for return. It really is too simple. I had so many comments on my clutch on the day and it finished off my look without the hefty price tag of owning it.
I also hired a gorgeous Alex Perry dress from Only Worn Once in Shenton Park (www.facebook.com/onlywornonceperth) and all within 24 hours of the event as my original dress didn't make it to me in time. The ladies at OWO helped me find what I was looking for and were so helpful in getting this dress ready for me. And come Monday morning I simply dropped it at the dry-cleaner for it to be cleaned and returned for the next hire. Both locally run hire companies with impeccable service and quality items, and I would highly recommend them to anyone wanting the designer look for less. Or simply so you don't have to have items sitting around in your wardrobe.
I always find having my makeup done by a professional lasts so much longer than if I do it myself, and I feel a little bit extra special having it done. It also makes it one less thing to do with three young children running around home. As an Ambassador for TMF Cosmetics, when I have an event I trust the team at TMF Creative to make me look fab. TMF Cosmetics products are cruelty free and all except some of their glosses (which contain some beeswax) are vegan. Visit http://themakeupfactory.com.au for your local stockist of products or to book your makeup for your next special event.
If we go next year I think we will need to try the VIP lounge. With roped off areas decked out with day beds, lounges and umbrellas plus their own private bar and host, it will save the lining up for drinks, plus give a great vantage spot to watch the runway shows.
